Artist Bryan Hitch has let slip via his Twitter account that he is once again collaborating with writer Mark Waid on an upcoming Superman project for DC’s Black Label imprint.
Hitch wrote:
Venom in October, the introduction to Redcoat in November, Superman Black Label next year with Mark Waid inked by Kevin Nowlan (yeah, spoilers), Redcoat series and something truly massive I’m not even mentioning. But it’s HUGE. Yeah, I’ve been busy this year.

In a follow-up response Hitch revealed that the Superman project will be three 46 page issues in the larger Prestige Plus format:
3 x 46 pages. Same format as Miller and JR JJ’s Year One.

Stay tuned for more news on this as-yet untitled 3-issue Superman Black Label miniseries.
Well, it’s still not an ongoing title, but I will definitely take Mark Waid on Superman.
Kinda wondering why it’s a Black Label project. Or is Black Label just anything that’s not mainline continuity now? (insamuch as “mainline continuity” means anything right now).
I’m excited but confused by the pairing. Didn’t Waid once talk about how Hitch changed the endings to some of his JLA stories, and he had to re-write the story to match the pages?
