Season 1 - Episode 24: "Performance"

3Rating - 3 (out of 5): I'm not sure what was going on in this episode. Maybe it was the Benadryl I was on when I watched it. Who knows.

We've now seen most things wrapping up for this season and they throw this one in there. Most villains tie into The Light or at least something close to it. Not always. But Parasite working for Intergang? I don't remember them being introduced yet. Don't get me wrong. Parasite is awesome. Intergang is awesome. But I've said it before and I'll say it again, let's wrap this up, folks.

Superboy is a junkie and I'm interested to see that story progress, but I hate junkie story lines. Seems a far too common tactic for writers to use. So if it isn't done right, it seems like nothing special. The last time being a junkie was ok to do in a show was Jessie Spano on a caffeine pill high. And that's because it was freakin' hilarious.

I was hoping for something more out of a Dick Grayson/Robin centric episode, but I just wasn't feeling this one.

It was reassuring to see Red Arrow trust the team just a little bit more. Although I don't think he's given up his hunt for the mole, despite what he's said.

And I also wasn't sure why only certain team members came with on this one. I know the actors are only contracted for a certain number of episodes but they usually provide some sort of reasoning for this. The only link I could see was they all had skills that they could use to pass off as acrobats, either flying or telekinesis.

Overall though I can't define it as a bad episode. Especially since Clancy Brown was in it. The man is my Lex Luthor. Period.

I do love this show, I promise, but occasionally it stumbles just a little.
