Andrea Finds Out

One aspect of the new season of "Krypto" I didn't recognize (since I usually just fast-forward through the opening credits) is the brand new adjustments to the opening theme song. Included are scenes of the new superheroes involved with Krypto, scenes from the season's episodes, and there's much more vibrant theme music. The title of this episode pretty much says it all, doesn't it? Andrea, Kevin's neighbor, discovers Krypto's ship along with Streaky, Krypto, and Kevin in it, and becomes a new ally in the fight for good. But being rendered vulnerable thanks to a piece of Kryptonite, Kevin and Andrea have to now stop Mechani-Kat's dirt bot, and team up to save the day. Now with Andrea, Krypto's not the only one who has friends to confide in.

Magic Mutts

Seems like a reference to Zatanna to me with the new villain for this episode being an evil magic toting bunny intent on stealing carrots from the local carnival. There's even hinting that he was once the pet of a magician and stole his master's wand for his own misdeeds. Of course, ala Superman, Krypto is outmatched thanks to him being vulnerable to the powers of magic. The writers are really laying it on thick that Krypto is a spin-off of the Superman mythos, and the clever references to the Man of Steel have really added much texture to both the stories and characters. Teamed with Stretch-O-Mutt and Ace, Krypto sets out to find the evil bunny that plans to steal the entire city's supply of carrots. Now that Krypto has been rendered incapable of fighting, Ace and Stretch-O-Mutt must save the day. The references to superheroes continue coming with Stretch-O-Mutt being an allusion to plastic man, Mertan being an allusion to Zatanna, and I anxiously await The Flash's pet.
