Heh, so they’re keeping the thing from Cat’s original characterization where she digs Clark? Interesting way to go for this particular incarnation.

It wasn’t actually. She pursued Clark in her early appearances in the Post Crisis comics.

Welp….some things never change. She was always into Clark anyhoo. So it’s kind of cool.

The void Smallville left has finally been filled, and then some! Can’t wait!

Man…the CW should of gotten Tom Welling as Superman. I don’t care the rest of you on this site say. It’s my honest opinion.

I really hope another major TV network (ABC or NBC) pick up a Smallville spinoff and call it: Metropolis and have Tom Welling as Superman and the rest of the cast of Smallville. Somebody need to give Tom Welling the recognition and justice he deserved. The Supergirl show is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Bittersweet 🙁

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, the man has had enough of Superman and he wants to move on with other projects. And it’s understandable from his POV. He was Superman for a whole generation for 10 years. He has given his all and more and that’s from someone who didn’t want the part in the first place.
It was a consolation for many when the Smallville Season 11 comic was published to carry on the adventures.

I think it’d be easier for Smallville fans to let him go if they’d ever really gotten the payoff for those 10 years.

Correction about, “from someone who didn’t want the part in the first place.” He said in a recent interview earlier this year when he was promoting a movie he co-star in. He was asked by one of the interviewers if he was open to play Superman on the Supergirl show for season 2. He said he would be open to play Superman but the CW and the producers from the Supergirl TVshow never approached him. I hope maybe another TV network from ABC or NBC create Smallville spin off called Metropolis and have the whole cast of Smallville on the… Read more »

I meant he said NO at the Smallville gig when he was approached in 2001. Twice, too. And he lasted for 10 years.

“Um, I might need a little notice,” were his own words on wearing the tights.

By the way, you do know Jimmy/James is supposed to be older than he’s been in every live-action version to date, right? He’s generally been a young man in his late teens to early 20s. He’s at least in his late 20s (perhaps early 30s) on Supergirl. And who’s to say he couldn’t have had a growth spurt? Or perhaps been inspired by his ‘pal’ to make something more of himself? Expand your mind a bit – it’ll help.

I’m glad the photos of Superman came out when they did. I’ve fully adjusted to the actor and the new suit and I eagerly await the season 2 premier of Supergirl. 🙂

It’s nice to see Superman back. Without the trunks but still looks like Superman. And most of all, acts like Superman. I’ve never seen Tyler Hoechlin before but looks quite promissing.
