The CW has released the first official trailer for the second season of “Supergirl”, which sees Superman and Supergirl team-up and take to the sky.
SUPERGIRL is based on the DC character Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, who after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul Cat Grant. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency, enlists her to help protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats.
Season 2 of “Supergirl” premieres on The CW on October 10 at 8.00pm.

Well…the suit still looks bad (no red trunks, and it looks plastic, the boots are terrible, way the cape attaches is awful), but it’s still better than the Snyder suit (and no collar, thank God). Special effects look surpringly still better than the CW Flash. Melissa Benoist’s voiceover was pretty bad, and there’s still a chance the show might suck because it’s on the CW, and because most of the Supergirl show was that way in season 1, but this is the best we’re going to get for a while, folks, so might as well make the most of it.… Read more »
Kel, I think you made your best criticism ever, since, in my opinion, you managed to do it without the issues that were mentioned in the other thread! 🙂 Since you really love the red trunks, obviously we all knew you would not really like this suit. I’m thinking Tyler’s run there was just a fun little nod to Kara’s first flight from the series pilot. Only of course when he does it it’s very smooth because he’s a veteran at it rather than the out of practice rookie Kara was when she was trying to fly to that very first rescue.

If I had to guess, the costume change is going to tie into Flashpoint. Moving to CW brings it fully into the Flash/Arrowverse, and Flash is doing the Flashpoint event this season. That will probably be the explanation for a lot of the changes that will be taking place because of the move. I say this because those boots, that belt and all those seams are strongly indicative of the new52 suit as an inspiration of this design.

Cautiously looking forward to this. I think Melissa Benoist makes a wonderful, charming Kara and I think she looks great in HER costume, but I am not sold at all on Tyler Hoechlin’s look as Superman. Hate those leathery shoulder things, the belt looks cheap and weird, the boots look too bulky … it’s just … wrong. Then again, I’m a big ‘Man of Steel’ fan and I can’t imagine another actor looking the part anywhere near as much as Henry Cavill does (and I also love the ‘MoS’ suit, which I know is a sentiment many here do not… Read more »
Like the MoS suit too. I too think that Melissa makes a wonderful an charming Kara. Did not like the suit for Superman in the upcoming second season pics for Supergirl. But, have changed my mind about that. Also have enjoyed the first season of Supergirl and am looking forward to the second season of Supegirl.
Enjoying the Supergirl TV series and enjoyed watching the trailer for the second season. I like both of the costumes for Supergirl and Superman.
What I really want is for Kara, Kal and J’onn to all team up, haha!
