According to HeroicHollywood.com Peter Gadiot has been cast to play Mr. Mxyzptlk in an upcoming episode of “Supergirl”.
Gadiot is best known for his role as Cyrus on the short-lived ABC series, “Once Upon a Time In Wonderland”, a spin-off show from “Once Upon a Time”.
Really disappointed!!! But I guess this is the CW. He looks like the pretty-boy version of Mr. Mxyzptlk from Smallville. I wonder if he will be just as lame.
Need I remind you about the disclaimer on these shows…BASED ON THE CHARACTERS…etc. If Berlanti and Company were to find someone who was Mxyzptlk’s comic-book height, the PC Police would be knocking down people’s doors because some social justice warrior snowflakes are scared of the word “midget.”
Or maybe they’d complain about them not being represented fairly.
They complain about everything.
Don’t need a reminder. Like Lord of the Rings, it’s not that hard to use sfx to make a normal-sized person appear smaller. And it’s been done on show’s with only a fraction of Supergirl’s budget, Disney shows etc.. And there are thin balding actors in Hollywood…so making Mxyzptlk tall and handsome is a CW Thing… And ‘Little People’ who are actors need work too. Playing a villain isn’t a bad thing. Actors, of all sizes, play villains all the time.
Nobody will beat Michael J. pollard on Superboy.
In other news, anyone else see the guy who is directed A MOnster Calls and jurassic world 2 wants to direct a superman movie?? His resume is good! Sign him up!
Exactly. People report on George Millar being a posible directer, despite him not expressing any desire for the Superman character. J.A. Bayona seems to have a passion for Superman.
I haven’t seen him acting, but he has too much of the stereotypical generic look… Reminds me too much of the actors playing Mon-el and Melissa’s husband who played Adam Foster in the show… Mr Mxyzptlk did take a form of a tall dark and handsome character in Superman #11 (1987): The Name Game I wonder if they used that comic for inspiration, and get the character to take Peter Gadiot’s form as a disguise for the episode… Personally I would have gone with a much older gentleman like Malcolm McDowell who I think would have fit the character perfect… Read more »
