Most Superman fans know that there really is a place called Metropolis in Illinois.Did you know there was once a town called Metropolis in Nevada?
Now a ghost town, the Nevada based Metropolis existed from 1911-1947. All that remains of it todayÊare foundations from a school, bank and numerous artifacts that let you know that this was once a thriving community.ÊThere is also a memorial marker located among the ruins.
