This just makes me remember Lillian’s line to Alex saying she’d be better off remembering Jeremiah as he was. But he didn’t seem to be corrupted in any way when he broke Mon-El and Kara out later in the season.

Why is the CW bringing all of these Superman alumni actors to be a part of the show when they are missing one important actor that started it all? I’m talking about Tom Welling. Is the CW trying to make everyone forget about him? At least Smallville gave Christopher Reeve the proper respect when they decided to bring him on the show. Somebody should investigate Tom’s where about or ask the producers from CW. They are planning on getting Terri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo. The only person that has yet to be a part of Supergirl is Superman himself –… Read more »

Let me clarify. What I meant was Tom Welling through Smallville has been the only DC/Superman centric show that started the CW having more DC related shows like the Arrow, the Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and now Supergirl. It’s safe to say if it wasn’t for Smallville, none of these shows would be here today. I mean cmon….Tom Welling is the only actor to play the Superman character (I know he was only Superman for like 5 seconds) the longest, even longer than Christopher Reeve. Dean Cain only played Supes for 4 seasons but the CW network caters the man… Read more »

Flo with all due respect while Smallville can be credited for kicking off the success of DC Comics on TV in this era the entirety of the Superman legend does not revolve around it or Tom Welling. That said, Supergirl is only in Season 2 and if the producers have an idea for a character that they think Tom would fit for they’ll ask him though that doesn’t guarantee he would accept or that his own schedule would permit. ..but I sincerely doubt they are at all oblivious to the fact that he was Clark Kent for a generation of… Read more »

“CW didn’t do any justice for Superman played by Tyler Hoechlin. That was dreadful to watch.”

I very much disagree. Quibbles about costume design aside, I think Tyler’s appearence was a home run and apparently so do many other folks. You might want to ask yourself if it was really that bad or was it just dreadful for you because it was someone besides Tom Welling?

I will agree that Tyler got Supes personality down, almost “Richard Donnerisque” having the very optimistic attitude like Christopher Reeve. I feel they should have gotten Brandon Routh to play Supes because he’s much taller than Tyler. To answer your question: It’s a little of both. Have you met Tom Welling in person? I have when he went to his only and last comic con back in the Summer of 2010. As I stood next to him, asked for his autograph and hugged him….his presence was astounding, as if I was meeting a real life Superman come to life. The… Read more »
