October 9, 2016: “Super Sons” Comic Book Title Delayed Until February 2017

supersonsDC Comics has announced that the “Super Sons” comic book title, which will see Superboy (Jon Smith/Kent) and Robin (Damian Wayne) team-up, will not see its first issue published until February 2017.

The announcement came during the Diamond Retailer Breakfast held at New York Comic Con this weekend, with Peter Tomasi taking on the writing duties and Jorge Jimenez doing the artwork. Originally the title was supposed to be released in September 2016 with writers Chris Burns and Dennis Culver.

Dan DiDio explained, “Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash, Detective Comics, those are some of our overachievers, but Super Sons by Tomasi, that’s a book we wanted to wait for an opening in Peter’s schedule, because he’s been writing those characters so well in Superman.”

Sounds good. Tomasi is writing Jon terrifically in Superman. Give him time to do this right.

Really wish they’d draw John’s super-jacket with the sleeves all the way down.
