July 17, 2013: Q-Collection Preserving Superman Comic Books For Furture Generations

Q-Collection Binders The Q-Collection Comic Book Project is all about preserving key comic books from the 1930s to the 1960s as a reading collection for the U.S Library of Congress - with a predicted lifespan of up to 10,000 years.

The image shown here is a sample of the front of two Information Page Dividers from the Q-Collection Superman and Superboy binder.

Each Information Page includes publication details, information on the series/particular issue/specific copy, below that info is extensive information on the series itself and below that is information on a primary character that appears in the comic book.

Shown are Superman-related comic books such as Superman #1, #53 (origin issue), Superboy #1, Showcase #9 (tryout for Lois Lane), Lois Lane #1, Jimmy Olsen #1, and the like. Character information in these include Clark Kent, Lois Lane, The Daily Planet Newspaper, Perry White, Jor-El, Kal-El, Lana Lang and so on.

Also included on each divider are scans of specific panels that relate to the character being discussed. All of this information may be interesting to today's reader. But in the thousands of years to come these dividers will be a treasure trove for historians. Knowing this, the work that John Sindall (the project founder) is doing is quite simply a LABOR OF LOVE.

Check out the Q-Collection Comic Book Preservation Project Facebook page for further details.
