August 22, 2012: New Upgrade for DC Comics App

DC App DC Comics and Comixology today announced a significant upgrade to their iOS and Android app.

This new release includes major design improvements, accelerated speeds, and an ever-expanding library of DC digital comics available through new search functionality.

DC Comics Fans will be happy to know that while major improvements have been made, the DC Comics by comiXology apps for iOS and Android still include many of the features that have rocketed the app to the top of download charts, like comiXology's patent-pending Guided View™ Technology; that includes a wide variety of viewing options and preferences, enabling users to set transition speeds, page orientations and so much more.

The new update, available for free download today, answers what has been the #1 request from digital comics readers since the launch of the DC COMICS app - social media sharing. Now you can tell your friends on Facebook and Twitter exactly what you're reading and encourage them to join in reading your favorite comics.

"From the beginning fans told us they loved reading digital comics, but they wanted to share that experience with their friends and now they can," stated Hank Kanalz, senior vice president of digital, DC Entertainment. "This update will bring the DC Comics app and our digital comics to a much broader audience through social media sharing, and allow users to easily find even more of their favorite comic books."
