August 31, 2006: Superman in Wizard #180

Wizard's Fall Preview issue #180 (October 2006), currently on newsstands, is chock-full of Superman-related information. Included in the 100-page Fall Preview section is a two-page spread of Adam Kubert's sketches for his upcoming run alongside writers Richard Donner and Geoff Johns on "Action Comics" - including redesigns for a bearded Jor-El and a sexy short-haired Lara sporting an "S" emblem necklace. There's also some discussion of "the boy", as writer Johns calls the mysterious child rocketed from space to Metropolis in that first story arc. Johns also sits down with fellow "52" writers and artists, including Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, and others, as they work out the end of the weekly series.

In addition, there's a brief introduction to the new members of the "Justice League of America" including writer Brad Meltzer's views on why each hero is there; an overview of writer Jim Krueger's work with Alex Ross on "Justice"; a look at the upcoming season of "Smallville"; a family tree connecting the original JSA to the new lineup for the upcoming "Justice Society of America" - a new lineup that includes the cousin of the Earth-2 Superman, Power Girl and a first look at the lineup of Deathstroke's teen team answer to the Teen Titans, the Titans East, including someone named "Match" who appears to be a dead ringer for the deceased Conner Kent (Superboy), and former Titan Risk who lost an arm during the Titans battle with Superboy-Prime during "Infinite Crisis".
