September 10, 2003: Superman Movie - New Writer/Director
Mark Millar, writer of "Superman: Red Son" and a huge Superman fan, posted the following message on his official website:"Superman is our destiny. It's THAT simple. PS: I know who's doing the movie too. Even DC don't know this yet, but I'm friendly with the writer/director and he's been angling for this for a while. You. Will. Be. Happy."
Apparently this confirms the rumors that McG is definitely off the project, and JJ Abrams' script will not be used.
As a long time friend of the Superman Homepage, Mark Millar wouldn't break his secrecy over the identity of this new writer/director, but he did repeat that we would all be very, very happy with his appointment.
Interesting...
While on the subject of the new Superman movie, Superman-V.com have just put up some shots of an official scouting trip of locations for Smallville.
