March 9, 2003: Ratner and Peters Feud Over Superman Movie

The New York Post published an article on March 7th stating that Director Brett Ratner and Producer Jon Peters nearly came to blows in a private meeting about the up-coming Superman movie. Here's an excerpt from the article...

TEMPERS flared last week between "Superman" director Brett Ratner and producer Jon Peters on the Warner Bros. lot, where the troubled Man-of-Steel film is mired in pre-production woes. We're told that Ratner and Peters had a screaming match over the snail's-pace casting of the picture last Friday.

"It was a closed-door meeting, but you could hear them screaming at each other inside the office," says our setside spy in Los Angeles. "At one point, Peters started belittling Ratner. He said, 'Oh, you think you're a big man now?' It got so bad that someone had to separate them."

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that the manager of actor Matthew Bomer told them his chances for the role of Superman were good. Here's a quote from the EW report...

"Brett Ratner liked him, plain and simple," says Bomer's manager, Bill Treusch. "He tought he was a terrific actor and told him if Warner started testing unknowns, he'd be considered."
