April 14, 2002: JLA to go Bi-Weekly in August
Comics Newsarama have revealed that DC Comics will publish the JLA comic bi-weekly in August. Here's an excerpt from their article...If you're talking about increasing shipping frequency, Marvel is the publisher making all the noise lately. Across town however, DC has plans as well - plans centered on the DCU's primary superteam.
Beginning with August's issue #69 and running through #74, JLA will ship bi-weekly, coinciding with a six-part storyline entitled "The Obsidian Age." The arc will, among other things tie up some loose ends and answer some lingering questions from last year's JLA: Our Worlds at War.
Issue #67 will set events in motion for the storyline, and issue #68 will serve as a full-fledged "The Obsidian Age" prologue when Zatanna, Faust, Tempest and other DC magicians make a startling discovery near the Atlantic Trench - the site where Atlantis once stood, but disappeared during JLA: Our Worlds at War.
And the storyline's subtitle, "The Hunt for Aquaman," will probably give readers a good feeling as to which OW@W questions the team is looking to answer.
