Created to be Superman one day when the original retired.
When Superman died at the hands Doomsday, Superboy attempted to carry on his legacy.
Superman returned alive and well.
After many adventures and life lessons, Superboy began to feel like he never truly 'belonged.'
He had no roots. When Superman thought Superboy was mature enough he gave Superboy two things he never had - a name and a family.
He became Kon El, surrogate son of Jonathan and Martha Kent.
At 5 a.m Kon received a rude awakening as his phone began to buzz wildly.
"Kon I need your help."
"Supes is that you?" Kon yawned.
"Kon I need you and Supergirl at the Fortress right now."
"Supes you ok? You sound bummed."
"Superboy, it's an emergency. I haven't time to explain."
"Ok I'm there!"
Kon ponders a moment as the line goes dead.
Things must be bad...
"Hey foxy, Supes needs us in his igloo pronto" Superboy yawns.
"Such a way with words Kon I'm on my way!"
"Race ya!" Superboy challenged.
