Everyone cares about the three brits playing American characters (Superman, Batman, Spider-Man). So what? Robert Downey Jr. does a fantastic Sherlock Holmes and no one cares. It's called acting for a reason.
In the end, the world didn't need a Superman. Just a Brave one.

The more rational of us don't give a toss and likely realize that the character was created by two Jewish immigrants, one from Canada, and some of the best contemporary Superman stories were written by non-Americans. [He certainly will look the part but then again so did Brandon Routh, will he have the charisma to share the screen with Christian Bale and other actors if there is a Superman/Batman movie or a Justice League spin off in the future? If Green Lantern is a success Ryan Reynolds has enough comic timing and screen prescence to steal the show if there isnt a strong enough Superman actor to play the "leader" of the justice league. When I heard the rumours about Jon Hamm being the next man of steel I thought that was perfect casting but I havent seen enough of Cavill (other than the Count of Monte Christo) to show much confidence in the choice to go with him. |

yea Jon Hamm has the look but he is 39 so maybe too old for what snyder is thinking for the film. But yea,def for a film featuring an older superman Hamm would look the part. Hopefully cavill will pull it off. THE WORLD NEEDS SUPERMAN

I sometimes wonder what the reaction would be if Brandon got the part again. I think he is Superman, personally. Not that I'm not open to Mr. Cavill, of course. Even then, we'd have to wait for the film to come out and judge the two actors performances against each others just to see what it would've been like. You know, the reason I like Superman is because he is an unabashed good guy, not this angsting dude with an anguished past who kills people while angsting.

Singer himself is a pretty soft fella, So maybe the director was just rubbing off. |
