How old is that Superman choice anyways? Not trying to argue, but I don't think he looks that much like Superman... Your Jimmy choice is good. I think I might have heard that idea somewhere else. And of course Billy Zane is just about everybody's choice and that one is good as well. Lois is okay... I'd prefer a lot of others to play her though. |

I just find 'em. Look, I am for any actor that can carry The new movie. Just make sure that he can act. Not someone aping Christopher Reeve, but someone that can make me believe that this man is Superman.Personally, I think that fans were spoiled by Chris's portrayal of the Man of Steel and accepted Routh's take because that there wasn't a Superman movie made since the early 1980's. That was any live action movie would be welcome even though the story of SR left a lot to be desired. I only hope that whoever gets the part, is someone that has a screen presence that can carry the picture, and a story that is worthy of the Man of Steel. What do you guys think of Justin Long? He matches the basic description but I'm not too crazy about the idea.... |

What about Milo Ventimiglia for Superman? He has the basic look of him. |

Milo VentimigliaWell, he was a "Hero". He would have to bulk up a bit like Christopher Reeve did. He might be in the running.Peace Whoga ![]() ===================================== "Like the only real magic -- The magic of knowledge." |

My Lex for a reboot has always been Timothy Olyphant (My own manip I made Just use cut n paste of two images, simple yet effective)
Superman: "You said that the world doesn't need a savior, but everyday I hear people crying for one"
Wise and true words. |

Yes you can change your casting ![]() Also Tim in Die Hard 4 was another reason I pictured him playing Lex. His character didn't have attitude/personality like Lex, but there were glimpses. He was cold, had no heart, etc. If you've seen the movie you should know where I'm trying to go with this. Yeah I figured, Timothy would be a good choice. He does scream Lex Luthor to me, I was hoping he did for you guys too

Here's my casting so far now (it's changed for some such as Hamilton and Lex of course)... Superman/Clark Kent - Milo Ventimiglia, Matthew Bomer, or Josh Hamilton Lex Luthor - Timothy Olyphant Lois Lane - Zooey Deschanel Jim Olsen (All-Star version) - Sterling Knight or Jesse Einsberg Perry White - John Michael Higgins Martha Kent - Sally Field Jonathon Kent - Fred Willard Proffesor Emil Hamilton - Jeremy Irons or Brian Cox (imagine how he looked in Red Eye) Winslow Schott/Toyman - Stephen Tobolowsky Mr. Orr (from The Man Of Tomorrow) - Jeff Bridges Edited by The Red-Blue Blur on 23/08/2010 23:35 |

James-El wrote: My Lex for a reboot has always been Timothy Olyphant (My own manip I made Just use cut n paste of two images, simple yet effective)![]() I forgot all about this guy. I never saw Hitman but I just finished watching Live Free or Die Hard and I can definitely see this guy playing the industrialist Lex Luthor who is also a brilliant technician in his own right . In a modern context, I guess Lex Luthor would essentially be an evil Steve Jobs. lol This would be the Lex Luthor with deeper motivations for his war with Superman (part jealousy, part fear, part misplaced-righteousness, etc (you know. some of the good stuff they used to do on Smallville). I'm all for this choice. BRILLIANT!!! Edited by Kal-El85 on 24/08/2010 23:25 |

why does it seem like some actors are just perfect for certain roles but then once we get to Superman it's just "maybe he could pull it off..." I think there's an insanely high bar for him. have they ever casted a previously well-known actor as Superman? maybe we should be looking for totally unknowns. sometimes an actor seems good for the role, but you can't picture them as Superman, because you've seen them differently so many times before.

Other than Supes, I have always had rather unconventional choices for the cast... Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman - John Hamm Jonathon Kent - Richard Gere Martha Kent - Diane Keaton Jimmy Olsen - Michael Cera Lois Lane - Lena Heady Ray Wise - Perry White Lex Luthor - Michael Ironside Jor-El - Gerard Butler Lara-El - Diane Lane Young Clark Kent - David Henrie Mercy Graves - Kate Beckinsale (make her blonde) Brainiac - Lachy Hume the infant from Krypton is now the Man of Steel... Superman!

has anybody considered Harrison Ford as Jonathan Kent? it's just an idea, I'm not sure. but I'm sure of Evangeline Lily as Lois Lane, I think that'd be great. I like the idea of Jesse Eisenberg as Jimmy, too. --Josh--
