December 19, 2016: Super Cellophane “S” in New “Justice League Action” Clip

A new clip from the “Justice League Action” animated episode titled “Play Date”, there’s a humorous reference to the movie “Superman II”.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg are being held captive by The Toyman (voiced by Ken Jeong). His trap is designed to pit the superheroes against one another in video game style battles. It’s Batman v Superman… Cyborg v Toyman.

You’ll notice the cellophane “S” tribute referencing this scene from “Superman II”.

So now a whole new generation can get introduced to contrived excuses to have Batman beat Superman. Start em young DC! ugh.

I completely agree. I rolled my eyes when Batman won against Superman. In fact, I was thinking to myself, “More predictable hog-wash. So what else is new?”
I’m enjoying Justice League Action thus far. But these writers seem to really enjoy making Batman beat Superman at every turn and corner. But then Batman will need help from Superman against Darkseid, Doomsday, Mongul, and a bunch of other super-powered villains.

The only positive is that it wasn’t Superman – he had no control over his own actions. Not much of a consolation, though. Somebody at WB need a kick in the pants.

Holly cornball! I could never watch this. Too Super-friends like. it’s a shame we couldn’t have gotten and updated series that played off the last serious series. Not this kiddie garb-o-la.

That series’ target are children. The Super-friends style makes sense.

I think the series is funny. It definitely caters to the younger audience but there’s still fan service for the older crowd (especially the Bruce Timm viewers of old). And those who are complaining about Batman beating Superman again, I recommend you watch the show. Superman is treated with respect in it. In fact, in a lot of cases, he shows off just how much better he is than Batman (Under a Red Sun). This was a one off where it wasnt even Superman fighting but Toyman and a Kryptonite ring.

See the show.
