Earth 2's heroes are wandering in limbo fighting Sandmen while the world reconstructs itself. Val-Zod notes that there are subtle changes to himself and the others. He, Power Girl and Red Tornado X-ray their surroundings to find that they are in an incomplete version of old Metropolis. Meanwhile, as Sandmen try cleanse this reality, Fury destroys a barrier that reveals a room that has been fully formed. The heroes, however, have no time to investigate it. Everything has gone dark, and Metropolis is an entire city as it was before the war with Apokolips. Batman, Huntress and John Grayson are in the middle of a crowded street when Commander Steel urges them to come with him. Their survival somehow depends on this. Why? Is there more to this rebuilt Metropolis than meets the eye?

4Story - 4: While the story merits a Five, I feel like Dan Abnett has dragged out a one issue chapter into two comic books. This and the previous chapter could have easily condensed into twenty-two pages. Perhaps this was done to prolong the serial for the hardcover or trade paperback market. Still, in spite of this flaw, I've been entertained by this title since Abnett took on the writing chores. That's all any comic fan could ask for.

5Art - 5: The art's pretty solid in this issue. Hopefully, Bruno Redondo will stay on the book as long as this serial goes on. A change in drawing styles would be too jarring and disrupt the flow if someone else rendered the next issue.

5Cover Art - 5: An awesome cover that makes the buyer believe the Sandmen are menaces along the line of the Daleks (which they are if you look closely). This image is impressive.
