“Batman v Superman” Effects – Before and After

Zack Snyder (via Cruel Films) has shared a 12 minute video showing the layers involved in building the special effects on scenes from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

“This is a look behind the curtain and what my amazing VFX team is able to achieve,” said Snyder via Twitter. “They are simply amazing.”

It’s interesting to see some of the elements which are later added in via computer… or taken away, as the case may be. It was interesting to see the man in the green screen suit with the green pad hitting Henry Cavill in the thigh to mimic the impact with the Batmobile.

The video also includes dialogue explaining some of the special effects created specifically for Doomsday.

This video really demonstrates just how overboard they went on the green-screen stuff. More story/character development – much, much less non-stop cgi destruction, please!!!

This amount of CGI is nothing new for big blockbuster films. It’s part of the experience. I for one think the Ultimate Edition is one of the best comic book epics of all time.
